Amsterdam has to be one of the most charming cities in the world. There’s something so gezellig (that’s cosy in Dutch) about the 200-year-old Golden Age canals that criss-cross the city, lined with bobbing houseboats and tilting gabled townhouses with tulips spilling from their window boxes.
I’ve written about my favourite things to see and do in the city here (it’s mainly to do with the city’s fantastic vintage shopping, dining scene and treasure-stuffed museums), but last week I was able to go a little deeper when I chatted to Talking Lifestyle radio about the city.
Aside from what to see and do, we talk about the best ways to get around the city, why the Vondelpark is such a great place to while away an afternoon, the city’s most interesting museums, whether it’s worth checking out the red light district, and the top place to explore if you’re into sustainability.
For anyone planning a trip to Amsterdam, or who just loves the city as much as I do, you can listen to the full interview here. I hope you enjoy it!
