If you want to have your sense of wonder for the planet restored, look no further than Antarctica. The loneliest and coldest place on earth can, in all its bleak, empty nothingness, leave you feeling hopeful about the future of our world. It’s one of the last corners of the earth that remains pure and pristine, that belongs to no one particular nation, and has been dedicated entirely to peace and science. It left me, at least, feeling part of something much larger than myself, and insignificant in a really healthy way.
Antarctica is a travel experience that’s very difficult to describe, and I’m still in the process of figuring out how I’m going to put it into words for my stories, both for you guys and for Traveller who I was there on assignment for. For now, I’m going to let my latest video do the talking.
Please take three minutes to brew yourself a cup of hot tea and let me whisk you away to the white continent. A surreal frozen desert, that will fill you with a sense of wonder for planet earth.
Thank you to APT for making this adventure happen!
