TAO OF TRAVEL Indian Sandals – Size 37

80.00 AUD

These handcrafted leather Kolhapuri chappal sandals, which I commissioned my gorgeous friend Abbas to make in Mumbai, India, are very dear to my heart. I have been buying sandals from Abbas for three years now, ever since I first met him in his tiny little hole-in-the-wall shop on Colaba Causeway. He is a third generation shoemaker, and has an infectious laugh that you can’t help but fall in love with.
These sandals, traditionally handmade in the Karnataka state of India, have been worn all over India since the 18th century. With their red pom-poms, tinkling old silver bells and TAO OF TRAVEL embossing on the right foot (a reminder to stay mindful on the road), they’re also the perfect travel accessory for the modern nomad.
