Hand-woven Straw Beach Bag, Vanuatu

60.00 AUD

I’m still wondering whether my trip to Ratua Private Island, a not-for-profit eco lodge in the archipelago of Vanuatu, actually happened. It was almost too dreamy to believe. Our own private beach, 200-year-old Javanese bungalows, snorkelling with tropical fish, giant turtles and stingrays, riding and swimming with the island’s beautiful horses, and kayaking to hidden blue holes surrounded by lush jungle. It was a place that gave us space to breathe, to think, and to come back to ourselves.
These straw bags, hand-woven by beautiful local women and something almost every local we came across had slung over their shoulder, have that special relaxed energy woven into them. They’re a reminder to be cool and to take it easy. Something to keep in mind when you take them to the beach this summer, or out on the town to add a bit of barefoot luxury to your summer outfits.
